Great Escape: Dinner at Veg

Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Your tweens take tap on Wednesday evening. It’s your time. Take it.

Each week, Sarasota Patch will tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier, maybe a whole lot easier.

This Week's Suggestion:  In the neighborhood of Gulf Gate, check out some great vegetarian and seafood meals at Veg. 

The Sarasota County Commissioners have proclaimed that Monday, March 21 is "Meat Out - Veg In! Day" in Sarasota County.  

The mirrored wall at Veg is filling up with pledge cards as customers pledge to "go meatless" on Monday, March 21st.  A donation for each pledge will be made to All Faiths Food Bank. 

Happy Cows will be on hand during lunch (11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) and dinner (5:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m.) to hand out coupons, recipes, and nutritional information about the benefits of including more fruits, vegetables and whole grains in one's diet.  There will also be samples of vegetarian food donated by The Great American Meatout sponsors.
