Friday, Oct. 28

  • Sarasota Pumpkin Festival: Running through Oct. 30, the festival will have live music, hayrides, face painting, food, animal rides, game and pumpkin carving. Admission is $5. Proceeds from the event will benefit All Children's Hospitals. The festival is from noon - 10 p.m. and is located at the Sarasota Fair Grounds.
  • House of Terror at PAL Sailor Circus: Looking for a scare this weekend? Head to the PAL Sailor Circus' home at 2075 Bahia Vista for the House of Terror. Admission is $10, if you dare. Children younger than 12 are not recommended to enter without an adult. House of Terror is open from 7 - 11 p.m. Open through Halloween.

Saturday, Oct. 29

  • Halloween Block Party: From 6 p.m. - 1 a.m. head to downtown Sarasota by the for a night of scary good fun. There will be a costume contest, live music and great food.
  • Planned Parenthood Safe Sex Halloween Bash: Held at the Van Wezel, the bash will feature an open bar, late-night bites by Michael’s On East, a DJ and dancing. Tickets are $75 in advance, $100 at the door. Proceeds from the event will benefit the family planning and prevention programs of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida

Monday, Oct. 31

  • Pup-kin Festival Costume Contest: Dress up your pup and bring him or her to the Sarasota Humane society for the puppy costume contest. You can also bring in a photo of your beloved family pet. There is a $5 donation entry fee. First, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded prizes. Judging is at 6 p.m.
  • Safe Treats for Kids: For the 27th year, the Siesta Key Village Association hosts “Safe Treats” from 3 - 6 p.m. Bring your little ones to trick or treat in Siesta Village along Ocean Blvd. and the surrounding streets. Look for participating members displaying orange and black balloons and pumpkin flyers in their windows. The event is free.
  • 'Thriller' on St. Armands: On Halloween Sarasota High School students at 6:30 p.m will do a “zombie walk,” luring unsuspecting tourists and locals to the park in the center of the circle, where they will perform Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” dance at 8 p.m.
  • Black Diamond Burlesque Halloween Night Special: There will be a costume dance party from 6:30 - 8 p.m., which will be followed by a burlesque show from 8 - 10 p.m. The show is at the Golden Apple Dinner Theatre and is $22.
