SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — It’s the spookiest time of year and the Sarasota area has plenty of family-friendly Halloween events to offer.

When: Every Friday and Saturday through Halloween, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Evie’s Express Car Wash & Mobile Detailing, 4715 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota

When: Oct. 16, 11 a.m. to noon
Where: Morgan Family Community Center, 6207 W. Price Blvd., North Port
What: Dress in costumers and enjoy treats, fun photo stations, a mini monster bash and more. Cost is $10 per pair of child and adult and $3 per additional attendee.
When: Oct. 22-23, 8 to 10 p.m.
Where: Oscar Scherer Park, 1843 S. Tamiami Trail, Osprey
What: Take a drive through a dark, haunted park filled with ghosts, goblins and witches. Treats provided at the end of the trail. Cost is $10 per vehicle of up to eight people. Cash only at the door. No foot traffic or bicycles.
When: Oct. 23, 11 a.m.
Where: Fable Books, 234 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice
What: Stop in to hear about “The Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything” and other witchy stories.
When: Oct. 23-24, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: The Mall at University Town Center, 140 University Town Center Drive, Sarasota
What: This festival features carnival rides, a pumpkin patch, trunk-or-treat, the Lil Mr. and Miss Pumpkin Pageant, a pet costume contest, entertainment, market vendors, food trucks, a beer garden and fall-themed activities.
Howl-O-Ween Movie Night Spooktacular
When: Oct. 23, 5 to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Ed Smith Stadium, 2700 12th Street, Sarasota
What: “The Addams Family” animated film from 2019 will be screened. Admission is a nonperishable food item to benefit All Faiths Food Bank.

Halloween Workshop: Laser Engrave a Pumpkin

What: Learn CorelDraw design software and the laser cutter while having a ton of spooky family fun. Cost is $35 for two children and one adult plus one pumpkin per child.
NBP Trick-or-Treat on the Lake
When: Oct. 26, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Nathan Benderson Park, 5851 Nathan Benderson Circle, Sarasota
What: Free trick-or-treating for the family with storytelling, music, candy stations and other activities. Cost is $5 per car.
When: Oct. 27, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Colonial Baptist Church, 2400 Taylor Ranch Trail, Venice
What: This free event includes bounce houses and lots of candy.

What: Stop in Halloween weekend for a goodie bag. Those wearing a costume will receive an extra prize.

What: This event includes trunk-or-treating, a costume party, arts vendors, pony rides and farm animals.

What: This annual event features interactive Halloween activities that celebrate nature. Activities include a nature mask competition and a spooky scavenger hunt.
