Handel's Christmas Messiah -- Joyous Sing-Along at Redeemer

The Church of the Redeemer invites the entire community to a joyous singing of George Friderich Handel's Christmas Messiah.

The entire community is invited to join the Church of the Redeemer, 222 S. Palm Ave., Sarasota, at 7:30 p.m. Sun., Dec. 21, for its annual tradition of the “Messiah Sing-Along,” a joyous singing of George Friderich Handel’s Christmas Messiah, one of the best-known, most-beloved and most frequently performed choral works in Western music. As it is each year, Messiah Sing-Along is dedicated to the memory of Redeemer’s longtime Composer in Residence Dr. Daniel T. Moe.

The festive family-friendly event features Redeemer choirs singing with the congregation, accompanied by a chamber orchestra made up of members of the Sarasota Orchestra Youth Philharmonic and conducted by Redeemer Assistant Organist and Contemporary Music Director Daniel Cartlidge.

The Messiah Sing-Along attracts an overflow audience every year; advance ticket donation is highly recommended. Ticket donations are $10 and may be made in advance online at redeemersarasota.org. Subject to availability, tickets will also be sold at the door on the day the event. Complimentary parking will be available at the BMO Harris Bank parking garage on McAnsh Square between 6 and 10 p.m.
