Harvest House announces leadership transition
Current President Dan Minor to assume dual role of President & CEO as longtime leader Erin Minor embarks on new professional adventure

Harvest House, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to champion hope and transform lives through supportive housing, addiction recovery programs, and food security, has announced a leadership transition. President Dan Minor, who has served in that role for eight years, will assume the dual role of President & CEO as longtime leader Erin Minor embarks on a new journey as Vice President of Community Leadership at Gulf Coast Community Foundation.
Dan Minor has been involved with the Harvest Sarasota Church/Harvest House since childhood, along with his siblings. He has assisted in every department, starting by helping to produce the Harvest Sarasota Church’s weekly television show and providing marketing support, including graphic design and the website, as well as helping in the youth department. He eventually became the Associate Pastor and then the Lead Pastor of the church, all while continuing to help support the mission of Harvest House in nearly every capacity.
Other professional pursuits have included working in the corporate world after college – he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from USF-Sarasota/Manatee – and working as a professional tax accountant. He also has helped NGOs and nonprofits raise millions of dollars for humanitarian efforts here and abroad through filmmaking and telling stories through the lens of his camera. Through the latter, he has traveled to over 30 countries including Iraq, South Africa, Mozambique, the Philippines, Haiti, the Middle East, and more.

Dan Minor will assume his new job title and responsibilities as of February 22, just two days after Harvest House’s major annual fundraiser, the Home Again Luncheon (which takes place on February 20 at Michael’s On East).
"Stepping into this role is both an honor and a responsibility. I’ve been part of Harvest House in so many ways over the years and I know firsthand the impact this organization has on people’s lives,” said Dan Minor. “As we look to the future, my goal is to build on this strong foundation, expanding our reach and continuing to create innovative, sustainable solutions that uplift those in need."

Dan and Erin’s parents, Jim and Peggy, founded Harvest House in 1992 with just six beds for men in recovery from substance abuse; today, Harvest House operates 380 beds for individuals and families seeking stability, healing, and a fresh start through supportive programs and affordable housing.
Harvest House addresses the everyday inequities that too many in our community experience: attainable housing, trusted and consistent support systems, behavior health services that meet the individual need, access to nutritional food, and the daily struggle to make ends meet. Its programs serve more than 800 adults and children each year who are facing challenges including mental illness, substance abuse, physical illness, domestic and community violence, poverty, and insecure housing. Not only does Harvest House provide numerous wrap-around services, it also seeks to foster a robust supportive community for residents to belong to – and add to – long after they leave its campuses.
“The Harvest House team and its mission will stand strong, and my belief in them will never waver. I’ll be cheering them on and celebrating every milestone they reach!” affirmed Erin Minor. “Being part of the Harvest House family is a lifelong bond. As I step into my new role with Gulf Coast, I carry forward the family DNA of service, courage, and love for humanity that defines our shared mission."
In 2025, top priorities for Harvest House include: to increase supportive and affordable housing options to serve more low-resource households; to increase therapy services to ensure all clients have access to quality mental health care; and to continuously improve internal processes and its capacity to adapt to the evolving needs of clients and the community.
"My vision for Harvest House is to deepen our impact while staying true to our core values of dignity, integrity, and innovation,” said Dan Minor. “I’m excited to lead our incredible team in forging new partnerships, increasing access to affordable housing, and making sure that everyone who walks through our doors finds the support they need to thrive."
