Hit-And-Run at Bar Under Investigation

Deputies say the Sarasota crash resulted in two motorcycles being knocked over.

A Tuesday morning crash outside Gilligan’s Bar in Sarasota remains under investigation with hit-and-run charges pending.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Alissa Stroud, 30, of Bradenton was at the 5253 Ocean Blvd. bar around 11:27 a.m. when she attempted to back her Lexus out of its parking space and struck a nearby motorcycle. That motorcycle, a highway patrol report says, fell over and hit a second.

After the crash, the driver took off without notifying the motorcycles’ owners, troopers said.

Witnesses on the scene identified the car involved, the report said.

No one was injured in the crash. It is unclear how much damage was done to the bikes.

Pending charges in the case include leaving the scene of a crash and improper backing. The investigation is ongoing.
