Homicide Victim Shot Before Crash, Cops Say
Sarasota police are asking anyone with information to step forward.

The Sarasota Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man dead Monday evening.
According to the agency, the homicide happened around 7 p.m. and was discovered after the victim crashed his car near the intersection of 25th Street and Orange Avenue. Police say they believe the shooting happened near 25th Street and Leon Avenue.
The victim, police said, managed to drive several hundred feet before striking a tree. He was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital where he later died.

The victim has not yet been identified.
