NORTH PORT, FL — The new COVID-19 testing site that opened in the city of North Port nearly two weeks ago has updated its hours of operation.

The free walk-up site at Dallas White Park, 5900 Greenwood Ave., will now operate Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the city shared on its Facebook page. Initially, testing was done at the site until 5 p.m.

The Department of Health in Sarasota County opened this site in North Port and reopened the site in the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex parking lot at 1845 34th Street in Sarasota in response to Florida’s surge in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths. The Sarasota site originally opened early in the pandemic and closed in May as cases started to decrease.
