Identity of Man Found Off Lido Key Released

As Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies continue to investigate the death of a man found Sunday off Lido Key, they’re asking anyone with information in the case to step forward.

Deputies say David Lawrence Barngrover, 57, was discovered in the Gulf of Mexico around 2 p.m. He was transported to the 10th Street boat ramp where officials pronounced him dead.

Barngrover has a last known address of 4043 Hina Drive in Sarasota.

Deputies have yet to release a cause of death, but say the investigation is ongoing.
