Intersection Improvements Coming to Gulf Gate Drive
Each week we'll give you a brief update to road construction projects in the area.

Gulf Gate Drive at Beneva: The construction of intersection improvements at Gulf Gate Drive and Beneva Road will begin the week of Sept. 19. The intersection improvements include the replacement of existing span wire signal with new mast arm signal and widening of Gulf Gate Drive, including extension of the eastbound to southbound right turn lane. The construction is expected to be substantially completed in November. The existing traffic signal will remain operational during the construction. Temporary intermittent closures of travel lanes are anticipated during the construction.
US 301, from Myrtle Street to DeSoto Road: Weather permitting, motorists this week traveling along US 301 in both directions may experience intermittent lane closures at Myrtle Street, Northgate Boulevard, 47th Street and Desoto Road intersections from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the reconstruction of the intersections. Other construction activities that will be carried out during the work week without requiring lane closures includes the installation of curbing and the limerock base for new travel and turn lanes in the median area separating the northbound and southbound travel lanes of US 301 between Myrtle Street and DeSoto Road.
US 41, at the intersection of Wood Street: The northbound outside lane of US 41 between Bay Street and Wood Street will be closed through Friday, September 16 from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Crews will be widening the radius of Wood Street.
