TAMPA BAY, FL — Looking for something to do this weekend in the Tampa Bay area? There’s something for every interest – LGBTQ+ pride events in Gulfport and Sarasota, the 18th annual Pitch for Pink hosted by the Clearwater Threshers, the St. Pete Beach Corey Area Craft Festival, Kevin Hart live, and the Summer Rum & Seafood Festival.

Pitch for Pink at BayCare Ballpark

The Clearwater Threshers welcome the community for the 18th annual Pitch for Pink breast cancer awareness and fundraising event, benefitting the Morton Plant Mease Foundation, on Friday. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. game with the Dunedin Blue Jays. The heartwarming and traditional Survivor's Walk will be again on-field prior to the first pitch at 6:10 p.m.

“Beyond Glory” Medal of Honor Heroes in Their Own Words”

Friday through Sunday in St. Petersburg, Outcast Theatre Collective will present Stephen Lang’s theatrical adaptation of Larry Smith’s book “Beyond Glory: Medal of Honor Heroes in Their Own Words”at Eight veterans from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, render firsthand accounts of the actions which resulted in each of them receiving the nation’s highest military award, the Medal of Honor.

The Kiwanis of Pinellas Park hosts its annual Kids’ Free Fishing Derby Saturday, 7:30 to 11 a.m., at Freedom Lake Park.

“Carnival of Animals” by Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra

Visit the Bok Tower Gardens Visitor Center Theater for “Carnival of the Animals” by Ogden Nash on Saturday morning and take a walk on the wild side with this timeless classic by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s Woodwind Quintet. There are shows at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Tampa Bay Toy & Comic Expo

Love vintage and retro toys, comics, pop culture and more? You’ll love Saturday’s Tampa Bay Toy & Comic Expo, which takes place at the Venetian Event Center in Tampa from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Gulfport Pride

The third annual Gulfport Pride event, which takes place downtown Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., benefits the award-winning LGBTQ Resource Center of the Gulfport Public Library. Activities will include the Gulfport Gecko Amalgamated Marching Band parade, the ArtOUT Exhibit, live music on two stages, and vendors showcasing art, pride gear, services and resources that serve the community.

St. Pete Beach Corey Area Craft Festival

Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach will come alive Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the best crafters from across the nation showcasing their handmade pottery, jewelry, paintings and much more. This open-air craft festival is a must-see for art enthusiasts and anyone looking for unique, handcrafted treasures.

Safety Harbor Kick in the Grass Food & Music Festival

Join the second annual Kick in the Grass Food & Music Festival on Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. at Safety Harbor City Park. There will be a kickball tournament, live music and a DJ, games and vendors, concessions and food trucks.

Summer Rum & Seafood Festival

The Summer Rum & Seafood Festival, hosted at Tampa Premium Outlets in Lutz Saturday, 4 to 10 p.m., promises to be a fun-filled day of rum, seafood and entertainment that you won't want to miss.

Manatee County 4-H Awards Banquet

Manatee County 4-H will honor its members for their achievements for 2022-2023 at the club’s annual awards banquet Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m., in Veterans' Hall at the Manatee County Fairgrounds.

Sarasota Pride Grand Carnival

Sarasota Pride hosts its Grand Carnival Saturday, 7 to 10 p.m., at the Circus Arts Conservatory. This year’s theme is “Diamonds are Forever.” This unique event features exciting visuals by Botanica Design Studio and live performances on the main stage by Ada Vox of “American Idol” and “Queen of the Universe,” and Zee Machine, nominated for Breakout Musical Artist at The Queerties Award, among others.
