Kitten Rescued From Car Engine: Sarasota County Emergency Services

SARASOTA, FL — Firefighters rescued a kitten that crawled into a car engine and got stuck on Friday, Sarasota County Emergency Services wrote in a Facebook post.

Sarasota County Fire Department crews were returning from a call when they were flagged down outside a Marathon gas station on Lockwood Ridge Road in Sarasota, SCES wrote.

Lt. Van Fleet and Firefighter/Paramedic Burns stopped to help and learned the cat was stuck in the engine compartment of a vehicle.

After searching the entire underside of the car, they finally found the kitten, and with teamwork from Battalion Chief Rose, they were able to get the kitten safely into the hands of Sarasota County Animal Services.

“It’s always a good day when we can help our friends,” SCES wrote.
