Late-Night Shooting Investigated In Sarasota: Police

SARASOTA, FL — A late-night shooting is under investigation in Sarasota, authorities said.

The shooting took place in the area of 19th Street, which was closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic between N. Orange and Central avenues, Sarasota police shared on social media Thursday just before midnight.

Police say it was an isolated incident. No other information was available.

Drivers and pedestrians were asked to avoid the area overnight Friday during the investigation.
