Low Water Pressure Issue to Linger for a Few Days
The issue is impacting Sarasota's barrier islands.

Residents of Sarasota’s barrier islands will have to put up with low water pressure concerns for a few more days.
According to the city of Sarasota, a contractor working on the Vue construction site near U.S. 41 and Gulfstream Avenue struck a 16-inch water main Tuesday. The main delivers water to the city’s western side, including Golden Gate Point, Bird Key, St. Armands Key and Lido Key.
While water to the area is functional, water pressure isn’t expected to return to normal until Saturday afternoon at the earliest, the city wrote in an email to media.

A private contractor is making repairs on the line. Water service continues for all of Sarasota, the city noted, because of redundancies built into the water distribution system.
