Main Street Streetscape Concepts Displayed
Neither costs for the Main Street improvements nor the survey results was presented last night.
Residents, downtown merchants and city staff members came to City Hall Monday afternoon to get a look at conceptual designs for Main Street streetscape improvements.
Main Street was divided into four segments: Bayfront to Five Points, Five Points to Orange Avenue, Orange Avenue to Osprey Avenue and Osprey Avenue to Washington Boulevard.
Cards were available for the public to check their favorite options, as well as add further comments. The conceptual designs were created after input from a .

The segment stations had pictures of the existing streetscape as well as two alternative options.
Options presented were curbs vs. no curbs, concrete vs. brick pavers and parallel vs. angled parking.

According to the city, the next step is for the Downtown Improvement District board to make recommendations to the city commission.
Commissioners are tentatively scheduled to vote on the improvements in January.
