Shoppers eagerly awaiting the opening of the Mall at University Town Center don’t have to wait any longer. The doors opened for business Thursday morning.
Featuring such shops as Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s and Dillard’s, the 140 University Town Center Drive mall is anticipated to draw lots of traffic to the region over the coming days.
“The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is working along with FHP and DOT to help traffic flow as smoothly as possible,” the sheriff’s office wrote on its Facebook page. “For the brave souls who want to be part of the excitement – enjoy!”

The mall is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Onsite restaurants, including The Capital Grille, Brio, The Cheesecake Factory and Seasons 52, may have their own hours.
