More Than 4K Child Porn Images Found In Man's Dropbox: Police

Sarasota man, Ted Sanchez, 19, faces 10 counts of possessing child pornography, police said.

SARASOTA, FL — A 19-year-old man has been charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, Sarasota police said in a news release. Investigators reportedly found thousands of images of children in his social media account.

Ted Sanchez was arrested Sunday and is being held at the Sarasota County Jail on a $150,000 bond. The videos and images found in his possession feature girls ranging from 2 years old to older teens, according to the police report.

Sarasota detectives received a tip about a child pornography suspect living in the 100 block of North Briggs Avenue from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on Nov. 23. The tip was forwarded to them from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

Dropbox notified NCMEC of an account on their service connected with Sanchez that uploaded four suspected child pornography videos over several months, the police report said. Sarasota detectives verified that the videos are child pornography, the news release said.

After this, detectives subpoenaed Comcast Communications regarding the IP address at Sanchez’s home, which he shares with his mother and her boyfriend. In an email, Comcast told detectives that one video featuring child pornography had been uploaded to his Facebook Messenger account, the police report said.

In the email, Comcast said that Sanchez verified the Facebook account was his, but said that “it had been shut off,” the police report said. He also denied using Facebook to upload child pornography.

Following a search warrant, Dropbox found another 4,000 pornography images and videos in the account associated with Sanchez, which Sarasota detectives verified as his account, according to the police report.
