Man Critical After Sarasota Crash

A 21-year-old Sarasota man is in critical condition at Blake Medical Center following a Tuesday morning crash.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred around 12:46 a.m. along Tuttle Avenue. Troopers say Russell Schilling was driving a Toyota Tacoma south on Tuttle in the left lane when the wreck happened. When Schilling approached Siesta Circle, his truck began to rotate, exited the road and went into the median of the traffic circle. The truck ultimately hit a concrete light pole in the median.

Schilling was taken to Blake following the accident. Troopers say the accident appears to be alcohol related. The investigation continues.
