Man Driving Maserati Waves Gun At Another Driver On I-75: FHP

SARASOTA, FL — A Georgia man driving a Maserati faces charges after waving a gun at another driver in an I-75 road-rage incident in Sarasota, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

James R. Weaver, 74, pulled a gun on another driver Tuesday just before 1 p.m. while driving near mile marker 182, which is Sumter Boulevard, the agency said.

He was pulled over at mile marker 204, not far from State Road 72, FHP said. Troopers found a .45-caliber Kimber handgun in his car.

There were also four passengers in the car with Weaver — a man, a woman and two children.

Weaver was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to FHP. He was booked into the Sarasota County Jail.
