VENICE, FL — A man was arrested Monday and charged for indecent exposure and battery on nursing staff at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Venice, authorities said.

Paul M. Cowan, 60, of Englewood inappropriately touched a female nurse, exposed his genitals and masturbated in view of nursing staff, the Venice Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

When interviewed by officers, he told them “he couldn’t help himself,” police said.

Cowan was booked into Sarasota County Jail.
