Mississippi Woman Killed In Manatee County Crash: FHP

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A 79-year-old woman died, and another driver was injured in a Saturday evening crash in eastern Manatee County, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The woman, who is from Jackson, Mississippi, was driving east on State Road 70 near the intersection at Mobley Pond Lane around 7:11 p.m. when her car crossed the center line, hitting the front of a pick-up truck heading west on S.R. 70, the FHP said.

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 38-year-old Parrish man, was seriously injured in the crash. The accident remains under investigation, the FHP said.
