Mom, Daughter Give Birth on the Same Day

The two Florida women also found out they were pregnant on the same day nine months ago.

A South Florida family is celebrating not one, but two new arrivals as a mother and daughter both delivered their bundles of joy at the same hospital on Tuesday.

Daughter Destinee Martin told her mother Heather Penticoff she was pregnant nine months ago, ABC-7 reported. On that very same day, Heather also found out she was expecting.

Both women had the same due dates, and as it turned out, medical reasons arose prompting doctors at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers to induce both women on the same day, WRAL reported.

Madeline Penticoff was born first, and Destinee’s son, Damien, joined the celebration about three hours later, WCTV said.

“This is something that you can’t plan. This is something God sets in motion, and you just roll with the punches,” Penticoff was quoted by ABC-7 as saying.

Going through the pregnancy with her mother was an incredible experience, Local 10 quoted Martin as saying. It’s “probably the most special, amazing thing ever,” she said.
