Monica Yadav Earns Public Relations Counselor Certification

Monica Yadav, APR, CPRC, has earned her professional credentials as a Certified Public Relations Counselor from the Florida Public Relations Association. In receiving the designation of Counselor, Yadav joins an elite group of public relations professionals statewide who have proven their ability to counsel during a variety of public relations scenarios, including crisis communications, while exhibiting high levels of public relations practices and exemplary ethical standards.

Yadav is the director of communications and community engagement at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital, where she oversees external communications, media relations, social media and events for the hospital. Before working in healthcare, she was the manager of external relations for a large home services company and was responsible for media relations, media training and crisis communications for franchise owners across the country.

Yadav started her professional career as a TV news anchor and reporter and worked for 15 years at network affiliates in Arizona, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Florida. She is originally from Orlando and is a proud graduate of the University of Florida, with a degree in Telecommunication News.

“My public relations counseling skills are put to the test every day" said Yadav. "Earning this certification validates what I do; plus, it’s very rewarding personally and professionally.”

The CPRC examination is administered by the Florida Public Relations Association. The rigorous examination process is open to any member who has earned his or her accreditation in public relations, a national credential from the Universal Advisory Board, and has a minimum of 10 years of experience practicing public relations. The credential is designed to recognize those who have exemplified the ability to counsel in any public relations scenario.

Lt. Col. John Dillin established FPRA in 1938 for the purpose of helping public relations practitioners do their jobs better. As the oldest public relations organization in the country, FPRA is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners, who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida. FPRA is comprised of 16 professional and 14 student chapters throughout the state, providing professional development, networking and professional recognition opportunities.
