Motorcyclist Killed In Sarasota County Crash: FL Highway Patrol
A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon after losing control and crashing into a tree in Sarasota County, FL Highway Patrol said.
SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon in a southern Sarasota County crash, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The 21-year-old Venice man was heading north in the right lane on Englewood Road, approaching Temple Road, around 5:45 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle.
He traveled across all northbound lanes and failed to negotiate a curve before entering the grass median and hitting a tree, FHP said.

He was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the southbound lanes of Englewood Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crash debris hit an SUV heading south on Englewood Road and passing Temple Road at the time of the incident, FHP said.

The SUV’s driver, a 47-year-old Englewood man, was uninjured.
