NORTH PORT, FL — A North Port man was charged with murder in the fatal shooting of another man Saturday morning, North Port police shared on Facebook. Modero Cruz, 51, was arrested and booked into Sarasota County Jail after being charged with the murder of 43-year-old Dylan James Baker, who is also of North Port, police said. Officers responded to the shooting at the Grande Court Apartments in the 5000 block of Greenwood Avenue just after 9 a.m. Police say that Cruz and Baker knew each other. There were no other injuries in the shooting.

Modero Cruz, 51, was arrested and booked into Sarasota County Jail after being charged with the murder of 43-year-old Dylan James Baker, who is also of North Port, police said. Officers responded to the shooting at the Grande Court Apartments in the 5000 block of Greenwood Avenue just after 9 a.m.

Police say that Cruz and Baker knew each other. There were no other injuries in the shooting.
