KEY WEST, FL — There’s more trouble brewing for Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter.
The singer is being sued by Skylar Carden, the victim in an alleged bar fight that broke out on Jan. 13 at the popular Key West Hog’s Breath Saloon. Carden is an employee of the saloon and has accused Carter of hitting and choking him, according to ET Online.
Monroe County Court records indicate the suit against Carter was filed on Monday. It is unclear how much in damages Carden is seeking in the civil suit.

The fight in question broke out around 8 p.m. Jan. 13. Carter was brought into custody by the Key West Police Department. Carter, 35, was charged with misdemeanor battery following the fight and has since pleaded not guilty.
“When we fall we have to get up and keep on walking,” the singer tweeted on Jan. 23. “I hope you stay by my side and continue to walk with me.”
No hearing dates have been set as of yet in Carden’s suit, Monore County court records indicate. An arraignment on the battery charge for Carter, however, has been set for Feb. 8.
Carter’s career kicked off in April 1993 when he joined A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and Kevin Richardson to form the popular boy band. He’s also enjoyed a solo career that has included such releases as “I Got You,” and “I Will Wait.”
