Nokomis Man Arrested For Possessing Child Porn: Sheriff

NOKOMIS, FL — A 68-year-old Nokomis man was arrested Friday on 66 felony counts of possession of child pornography, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Michael Summite was arrested after detectives received two tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that his IP address was used to upload child pornography online.

Detectives executed a search warrant at his home in the 200 block of North Tamiami Trail in Nokomis Thursday. During their search, they found 66 child pornography images with victims ranging from 2 to 14 years old, the sheriff’s office said.

Summite was arrested and brought to the Sarasota County Correctional Facility, where he remains in custody without bond as the investigation continues.
