North Port Man Who Sold Guns Without License Gets Prison Time: DOJ
A North Port man will spend time in federal prison after illegally selling guns without a license, the Department of Justice said.
NORTH PORT, FL — A North Port man who illegally sold guns without a license was sentenced to one year and a day in federal prison.
Following his time in prison, Larry Alan Goldman, 64, has been given two years of supervised release, according to a Department of Justice news release. He’ll also pay a fine of $25,000.
Between February 2020 and August 2021, undercover agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and a confidential informant purchased about 14 guns from Goldman’s vendor book at a North Fort Myers flea market, the DOJ said.

During this time, he didn’t have a Federal Firearms License authorizing him to deal in firearms. In September 2021, ATF agents visited Goldman at his home and served him with a notice of unlicensed firearms dealing violation. He agreed to stop selling guns.
Following this meeting, undercover ATF agents purchased two additional firearms from Goldman at the flea market in September and October 2021, the DOJ said. On Oct. 19, 2021, ATF agents executed a federal search warrant of his home, as well as a truck and trailer he used to facilitate the sale of firearms.

Agents seized 29 guns and nearly $37,000 in cash. A search of multiple sale firearm purchases made by Goldman between January 2020 and September 2021 revealed that Goldman had purchased approximately 313 firearms, according to the DOJ.
