Nov. 8 Polling Places In Venice, North Port Move After Hurricane Ian
Damage caused by Hurricane Ian forced the Supervisor of Elections office to move 4 Sarasota County voting precincts on Election Day.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — After Hurricane Ian’s hit to Southwest Florida at the end of September, several polling places in southern Sarasota County are moving on Election Day, the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections office shared on its Facebook page.
The powerful storm damaged some of the planned polling locations, forcing the county to set up emergency polling places in Venice and North Port on Nov. 8. These temporary changes are only in effect for this year.
In Venice, Precinct 301 is moving from the Waterford Sports Club to Church of Nazarene at 1535 E. Venice Ave.

Meanwhile, voters in Precinct 317, who normally vote at the North Port Community United Church of Christ, and those in precincts 329 and 339, who usually vote at St. Nathaniel’s Episcopal Church, have a new policing station: the Elections Office in Biscayne Plaza at 13640 Tamiami Trail in North Port.
There are no changes for Precincts 543 and 545, which votes at the Englewood Sports Complex, 1300 S. River Road, the supervisor of elections office said.
