The New Tampa Performing Arts Center hosts its annual fall festival through Sunday. The festival showcases performances by Tampa Bay-area artists across mediums - music, theater, dance, come and more. There will also be family-friendly activities, including a free screening of the live-action “Aladdin” movie, arts and crafts, and the Florida Orchestra’s instrument petting zoo.

Mercy Full Project Fundraiser

This animal rescue nonprofit hosts its annual major fundraiser Friday, 6:30 p.m., at the Tampa River Center. There will be cocktails, dinner, live entertainment and a silent auction.

“The Sound of Music”

The Richey Suncoast Theatre’s production of “The Sound of Music” wraps up its run this weekend with shows Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m.

Grown-Up Adult Book Fair

Deviant Libations in Tampa hosts a Grown-Up School Book Fair on Friday, 7 p.m. There will be book vendors, craft brews, horror burlesque, a school supply drive and more. Cost is $13 to enter.

Oxford Exchange in Tampa hosts this tropical casino night fundraiser for the Tampa Museum of Art on Friday, 8 p.m.

One Step Closer to the Cure 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run

Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation hosts its annual 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run fundraiser Saturday, 7:30 a.m. It starts and ends at Albert Whitted Park in St. Petersburg. The funds raised will help local women suffering from ovarian cancer.

Art Yard Sale

St. Pete’s Morean Arts Center offers great deals on art Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Prices start at $1 and max out at $100.

Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix

The 40th annual Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix takes place Saturday and Sunday at Lido Beach in Sarasota.
