Meet local songwriters Wednesday, 6 p.m., at Phillippi Estate Park in Sarasota. This small group event is aimed at creating that safe space that most songwriters need to share their creative ideas without harsh criticism.
Good Friday Stations of the Cross
Twenty-three Sarasota congregations will participate in a Stations of the Cross pilgrimage down the center of Main Street on Good Friday at 7 a.m. An estimated 1,000 attendees will gather for the event, which includes stops at 14 Stations with readings, prayers, and songs.
The Market at The Point
This weekly market features unique vendors selling a variety of items — arts and crafts, jewelry, fresh produce, baked goods, assorted foods, apparel, pottery, purses, collectibles, woodworking, health and beauty items, unique gifts — on Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at The Point, 131 Bayview Drive, Osprey.
Salute to Safety Awards Dinner
Hosted by the nonprofit group Aqua Cares Foundation, this Friday night event in Lakewood Ranch honors those chosen by their peers for demonstrating exceptional leadership, commitment and dedication in providing safety in the community. The 2023 honorees include Tandem Construction, U.S. Rep. Greg Steube, The Haven, Carrier Global, WWSB ABC 7, and Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman.
First Friday: Circus Nights
Sarasota’s First Friday Sip & Shop, which runs from 5 to 8 p.m. along the 1400, 1500 and 1600 blocks of Main Street, has a theme of Circus Nights. Entertainers will include a stilt walker, hula hoop dancer, LED juggles and a fire dancer.
Music in the Park
The Eric Von Band will perform Friday, 6 to 8 p.m., as part of the Music in the Park series at Mosaic Amphitheatre on Bradenton’s Riverwalk.
Art in the Park
The Downtown Improvement District’s freshest block party continues with Art in the Park Friday, 7 p.m., at Selby Five Points Park, for a night of entertainment and culture.
Poke-Hunt Easter Egg Festival

Florida musician Brian Smalley will take the stage for a house concert on Palm Aire in Sarasota on Saturday, 7 p.m.
La Musica International Chamber Music Festival
The opening concert of the 2023 festival takes place Saturday, 7:30 p.m., at the Sarasota Opera House. The program begins with one of Beethoven’s finest and most grand trios ever written at that time and closes with Mendelssohn’s most beloved Octet in E-flat major.
Artist Series Concerts: Feder Duo
The Feder Duo — Cheryl Losey Feder, harp, and Abraham Feder, cello — will perform Sunday, 4 p.m., at Temple Sinai in Sarasota.
