People at Play Lets You Get to Work
The new business north of University lets you be a construction worker for a day.
Picture this: You're driving down the road, and you see a construction site. Those big bright yellow machines and that unforgettable "beep, beep, beep." Most of us have thought about jumping in the cab and taking the CAT for a spin.
At People at Play, now you can. The business was started in December 2010 by Alisa and Jason Bennett, who wanted to bring more revenue into a struggling construction business.
Wanting to think outside the box, they came up with the idea of letting people become construction workers for a day. While they were a little nervous that people would now not take their regular construction business, Bennett Contracting Inc., it has had the exact opposite effect.

Not only has People At Play received an overwhelming response from folks here on the Suncoast and around the country — including the Today Show and ABC's World News, but it has increased their construction business as well. Clients, they said, want to work with them because they say they think outside the box and are creative.
