Police: Designer Drugs, Cash and Guns Seized in Store Raids

Undercover operations led to warrants over the last several months, according to Sarasota Police.

The execution of four search warrants in recent months in Sarasota has led to the seizure of designer drugs, cash and guns, according to the City of Sarasota Police Department.

The operation included two raids at at Snack’s, located at 1950 MLK Jr. Way, once in June and again Nov. 14 Officers confiscated more than 450 packs of ‘spice,’ a designer drug between the two busts. The same suspect arrested twice.

Police also confiscated $937 in cash and a small .25 Colt semi-automatic firearm in June. Last month, they seized more cash, $861, and a 2010 BMW 328i.

“These are very significant undercover operations,” said Lt. James Rieser, Criminal Investigations Division, Sarasota Police Department. “These search warrants are extremely important because designer drugs are one of our biggest challenges currently.”
