Pope Francis Event Tickets Offered by U.S. Rep Buchanan

A limited number of seats are available.

Tampa Bay area residents who want to make the trip to Washington, D.C., for Pope Francis’ historic visit can get tickets to a related event courtesy of U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan.

The Republican from Longboat Key is offering residents a chance to obtain tickets for a live broadcast of Pope Francis’ Sept. 24 address to Congress. Ticketholders won’t get to enter the chambers to witness the address in person, but they will be able to view the speech from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol via Jumbotrons that will be set up. Tickets for the event are being offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Pope Francis’ visit to the United States will be a first for a sitting head of the Catholic Church since 2008.

Pope Francis may make an appearance on the West Front of the Capitol, the email noted.
