Publix Bagels Recalled Due to Glass, Stones
The store has issued a voluntary recall on jalapeno bagels.

Fans of Publix jalapeno bagels might want to think twice before taking a bite.
The store has issued a voluntary recall of the baked goods generally sold in its self-service bins and artisan cases, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The bagels, which were distributed to stores throughout Florida, and a few other states, may contain bits of glass and small stones, an FDA media release said. The bagels are baked by a private supplier that made Publix aware of the potential issue.

“As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted product has been removed from all affected bakery departments,” Maria Brous, Publix media and community relations director, was quoted in the release as saying. “To date, there have been no reported cases of illness or injury.”
Customers who have purchased jalapeno bagels may take them back to their local store for a full refund. Anyone with questions can call the grocery chain’s Customer Care Department at 1-800-242-1227.
