Residents Invited To Learn More About Solar Power Cooperative

The City of Sarasota announced the opening of a new solar co-op, Solar United Neighbors.

SARASOTA, FL – The City of Sarasota announced the opening of a new solar co-op, Solar United Neighbors.

Vice Mayor Jen Ahearn-Koch was on hand at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium for the announcement last week.

The co-op enables homeowners throughout Sarasota County to leverage their bulk purchasing power and make solar panels more affordable. Each homeowner has an individual agreement with an installer, while everyone gets in on the competitive bid.

An informational meeting with details will take place Tuesday, June 5 at 6 p.m. at the Selby Public Library 1331 1st St., in downtown Sarasota.

At the meeting, members of the public can learn more about solar energy and can sign up for free, with zero commitment,.
