3rd Annual Cornhole & Cocktails Festival Set
The Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis Club hosts its third annual Cornhole & Cocktails Festival Saturday, 3 to 7 p.m., at the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto.

In addition to an indoor cornhole tournament, restaurants, breweries, wineries and distilleries will provide samples of their food and drinks. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased in advance here.

The Mandeville Beer Garden at 428 N. Lemon Ave. in Sarasota has been sold, owner Rebeka Mandeville shared on its Instagram page.
“As some of you may know, I have decided that it is time for me to move on to new adventures. I have sold Mandeville Beer Garden after being a part of this great community for the past seven and a half years,” Rebekah Mandeville posted. “Over that time, we have created so many memories with so many of you. A big heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been involved in making our local beer garden the success that it has been!”
The restaurant group Cask SRQ purchased the beer garden, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported.
“You can still enjoy Mandeville for the time being. The new owners have some exciting changes planned for later this year,” Mandeville added.
Cask SRQ owners said they plan to rename the restaurant and turn it into an oyster steamer bar.
2 Big Olaf Locations Leave Franchise, Rebrand With New Ice Cream
Following a deadly listeria outbreak linked to Sarasota's Big Olaf Creamery, two locations have cut ties with the company and rebranded with new ice cream.
The two former Big Olaf ice cream shops — one at 4862 S. Tamiami Trail, the other at 3973 Cattlemen Road in Sarasota — are now going by the name Blue Pineapple, the franchise shared on its Facebook page under the name Dream 2 Ice Cream. The storefronts will sell McClain's Homemade Ice Cream, which is also based in Sarasota.
3Natives Opening In South Sarasota
The healthy fast-casual chain 3Natives is opening a location in south Sarasota in The Landings plaza at U.S. 41 and Proctor Road, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. 3Natives’ menu includes acai bowls, salads, smoothies, wraps and juices.
Jeremiah’s Italian Ice Opens In Lakewood Ranch
A new Jeremiah’s Italian Ice franchise has opened in Lakewood Ranch at State Road 70 and Lorraine Road, Observer Media Group reported. It’s the brand’s 65th franchise location in Florida.
Jeremiah’s serves more than 40 Italian ice flavors, as well as three flavors of soft-serve ice cream — vanilla, chocolate and vanilla/chocolate.
Sandwich Night Returns To Indigenous
The restaurant Indigenous brings back its summer sandwich night every Wednesday starting July 27. Diners can get a sandwich and a beer or glass of wine for $25. This summer, the sandwiches will have a seafood flair, Sarasota Magazine reported.
