The Blue Rooster, 1525 4th Street, Sarasota: This popular venue for live blues music and Southern comfort food in the Rosemary District closed in April.

Breakfast at Victoria’s, 4141 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota: This breakfast eatery closed its Sarasota location after being damaged during Hurricane Ian.
BurgerFi, 257 N. Cattlemen Road, Sarasota: This burger chain closed its University Town Center area location after seven years in business.

Cafe Baci, 4001 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota: This restaurant inspired by Billy Joel’s “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” closed in May.
Café Longet, 239 Miami Ave. W., Venice: This downtown Venice restaurant, named one of the Top 100 Restaurants in America for 2021 by OpenTable, closed at the end of March.
Demetrios’ Pizza House, 1720 Cortez Road W., Bradenton: After 46 years in business, this pizzeria, known for its soft-crust pan pizza, closed in April.
Irish 31 Pub House & Eatery, 3750 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota: This Irish restaurant chain closed its Sarasota location after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Joey D’s, 211 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota: This Chicago-style pizzeria closed its downtown Sarasota location this year.
The Overton, 1420 Boulevard of the Arts, Sarasota: This Rosemary District staple closed at the end of June.
Primo! Ristorante, 8076 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota: After 36 years, this iconic Italian restaurant closed in November.

BeerSauce Shop, 419 Cortez Road W. Bradenton: This Missouri-based franchise offers more than 500 craft beers, as well as artisan sauces and rubs.
Breakfast at Victoria’s, 5315 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach: Though this eatery closed its Sarasota location after Hurricane Ian, it opened a new spot on Anna Maria Island.
Coast to Coast Coffee, 7650 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota: Serving New Orleans-style coffee, this coffee shop opened at the end of March.
Deep Lagoon Seafood, 482 Blackburn Point Road, Osprey: This concept from Phelan Family Brands opened its newest location this year.
Del Taco, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton: The first location of this popular quick-service fresh Mexican chain opened in Bradenton in November.
Flirt Sushi Lounge, 1296 1st Street, Sarasota: This sushi restaurant opened in the historic I.R. Burns & H.H. Bell Building.
Food + Beer, 301 Tamiami Trail S., Venice: This popular local chain expanded with a new location in Venice.
Godson’s Pizza House, 1720 Cortez Road W., Bradenton: This pizzeria opened in the former location of Demetrios’ Pizza House.
La Villa Mexican Grill, 5610 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key: This Valrico-based Mexican restaurant opened a second location in Longboat Key in August.
Linger Lodge Restaurant, 7116 85th Street Court E., Bradenton: After closing in 2020 because of COVID-19, this restaurant overlooking the Braden River reopened in August.
Mademoiselle Paris, 9906 Gulf Drive, Anna Maria: This French restaurant expanded with its third location in the Sarasota-Bradenton area.
Molly’s Pub, 1562 Main Street, Sarasota: This Irish restaurant from restaurateurs Steve and Mike Evanoff opened next to its sister restaurant, Evie’s on Main Street, earlier this year.
Pizzano’s Pizza & Grinderz, 5627 14th Street W., Holmes Beach: This Detroit-style pizzeria opened on Anna Maria Island.
Pho-Licious, 1987 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota: This Vietnamese restaurant recently opened in downtown Sarasota.
PopStroke, 195 University Town Center Drive, Sarasota: Co-owned by golfer Tiger Woods, this golfing, dining and entertainment venue opened earlier this year.
Project, 1419 5th Street, Sarasota: This Burns Court coffee shop and vegan staple opened its second location in The Rosemary District.
Pub 32 Irish Pub & Kitchen, 8383 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota: This Irish restaurant closed in August with plans to relocate down the road.
Sweet Deli Café, 531 13th Street W., Bradenton: This new eatery in downtown Bradenton serves breakfast all day.
