Richard DeNapoli to run for Florida House District 74

Richard DeNapoli, an attorney, financial planner and former chairman of the Broward Republican Party, announced Monday that he will file to run for Florida House District 74. The seat covers most of South Sarasota County, including Osprey, Nokomis, Venice and parts of North Port and Englewood, and is currently held by Rep. Doug Holder, who cannot run again due to term limits.

“From property insurance to Medicaid and from education to pensions, Florida faces serious challenges that require methodical and thoughtful planning,” said DeNapoli. “I’ve spent my entire career assisting moms, dads, seniors, and working Americans plan for the future. I intend to use that experience to help meet the challenges facing Florida’s future.”

DeNapoli served as Treasurer of the Broward Republican Party in 2010 and Chairman in December 2012. He is a native of Hollywood, Florida and a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law (2008, LL.M., Estate Planning), Fordham Law School (2002, J.D.) and New York University (1999, B.A., Politics; B.A. Italian). He is licensed to practice law in Florida and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He has worked as a Trust Officer in a private bank and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.  In addition, he is also a licensed Florida Realtor, Mortgage Broker, and notary. He currently lives in Nokomis with his wife and son.
