Ringling Film School One of Nation's Best
In a recent Hollywood Reporter article, Ringling College was named as one of the Best 25 Film Schools in the world.
The Hollywood Reporter has named as one of the 25 best film schools in the world, the college announced Thursday.Ā Ringling checked in at No. 23.
In creating the list, Ringling said the Hollywood Reporter consulted industry insiders, executives, filmmakers and film school graduates and asked them to rate each school based upon alumni, cost, facilities, industry access and strength of faculty.
"It is especially gratifying to be ranked as one of The Hollywood Reporterās 25 best film schools in their inaugural list as we have just graduated our first four-year students from the Digital Film Program this May,ā said Dr. Larry M. Thompson, president of Ringling College of Art and Design.Ā āEnrollment in our digital film program has doubled each year in the four years since its inception and we continuously update and expand upon our curriculum and opportunity offerings, including the build-out of our new on-campus professional post production facility this year.

Recent Ringling graduate from the digital film program, Jason Letkiewicz, was quoted in the Hollywood Reporter article:Ā
āRingling helped me transform from just a kid who liked playing with cameras into a true, narrative storyteller. It is too early to tell how much of a career impact it has had, but I'm only three months out of an undergrad film school and have had meetings with producers at MTV, IFC, AMC and Screen Gems.ā

Other schools that made the list included, Florida State University, the University of Southern California, the American Film Institute and the University of Texas.Ā
