Road Rage Incident Leads to Stabbing
The incident happened Thursday near the intersection of Bee Ridge Road and U.S. 41.

A case of road rage turned violent Thursday when one man stabbed another in a Sarasota parking lot.
According to the Sarasota Police Department, the incident occurred just before 3 p.m. when two people became upset with each other while still inside their vehicles near the intersection of Bee Ridge Road and U.S. 41. The two met in the parking lot of Paradise Plaza in front of the Petco to settle the dispute.
The incident began to escalate as the pair got out of their cars and started to fight, an email to media stated. During the fight, “the suspect produced a knife and began slashing at the victim and stabbed/slashed his face several times,” the email stated.

The man then fled the area, but was caught by police a short while later.
The victim was taken by Bayflight to a local hospital. The suspect was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with injuries he sustained during the fight.

Police have not yet released the identities of those involved.
