Child welfare agency Safe Children Coalition was recently notified that it has achieved Reaccreditation through COA (Council on Accreditation), a service of Social Current. Additionally, the organization learned it was expedited through the Pre-Commission Review Report (PCR) process as a result of not receiving any out-of-compliance ratings in any of the fundamental practice standards.

"We are proud to recognize Safe Children Coalition, Inc. as an outstanding organization that has met high performance standards and made a commitment to delivering quality services," noted Social Current President and CEO, Jody Levison-Johnson. "You should all take enormous pride in this accomplishment. We wish you the very best in your continuing work with the individuals you serve."

COA accreditation promotes trust and reassures an organization's stakeholders – including donors, partners, government agencies, and clients – of an organization’s commitment to high standards, accountability, and continuous quality improvement in service delivery. The thorough review confirms that an organization adheres to best practices. It also recognizes an organization’s commitment to training and professional development opportunities for staff, making them even more effective in their roles.

“We are honored and proud not just to have earned reaccreditation but also to have been expedited due to being in compliance in all fundamental practice standards,” said SCC President and CEO Brena Slater. “This is a testament to our incredible staff and volunteer board of directors , all of whom care deeply about and work hard to ensure our programs and services are aligned with the best practices in the field.”

The Council on Accreditation is an international nonprofit organization that accredits human and social service providers in best practices for child welfare, behavioral health, and community-based human and social service providers. For the public, referral sources and providers, a COA accreditation is an indication that an agency's programs are designed and delivered in a way that provides the highest level of quality care and excellence.
