Jacqueline House, MBA, CFRE has been named the new president of Charitable Gift Planners of Southwest Florida – the first-ever African American president of the nonprofit organization since its founding in 1997. She has been serving on the board since 2023, most recently as vice president in the 2025 program year.

House, who currently serves as the Vice President of Communications & Community Engagement for child welfare agency Safe Children Coalition, has been working in the philanthropic realm since 1996, serving in a variety of positions to support membership, marketing and fundraising.

Since coming to Safe Children Coalition a little over five years ago, she has built the nonprofit organization’s development program from the ground up. In addition to her ongoing work with supporters and community leaders, thanks in great part to her fundraising leadership, Safe Children Coalition has reached the $9 million Phase I goal to build a new Youth Shelter for homeless teens in Florida’s Circuit 12 (Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties) and is now enmeshed in Phase II of the effort.

In addition to her employment with Safe Children Coalition, she serves as a board member for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Southwest Florida chapter. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE); she has held the CFRE certification since September 2019.

“We have been thrilled to have a fundraising professional of Jacqueline’s stature working on behalf of area children and families, through Safe Children Coalition,” said SCC President and CEO Brena Slater. “Her dedication to the betterment of the community is evident not just through her work with us but also through her commitment to industry best practices and leadership in related professional associations. We congratulate her on being named the president of Charitable Gift Planners; having her in such a position can only enhance and strengthen our overall philanthropic community.”

Charitable Gift Planners was founded as the Southwest Florida Planned Giving Council, changing its name in 2018. The Charitable Gift Planners of Southwest Florida promotes philanthropy in our community through planned giving. The organization seeks to increase the quality and the quantity of charitable planned gifts by serving as a resource for the gift planning communities of Sarasota and Manatee counties. Its educational programs and networking opportunities are attended by nonprofit development professionals, attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors, and trust officers.
