Sarasota Bay Estuary Program Offers Funding for Environmental Projects
Eligible organizations can receive up to $3,000 in grant funding for environmental projects that benefit Sarasota Bay.

The Sarasota Bay Estuary Program (SBEP) is pleased to offer applications for 2017 Bay Partners Grants. The SBEP Bay Partners Grant Program promotes environmental education, awareness, community involvement, and stewardship to improve the overall quality of Sarasota Bay and its tributaries. To support these goals, funding is available from SBEP for projects that focus on Bay Habitat Improvement, Bay Water Quality Improvement, and Bay-Related Environmental Education.
Businesses, non-profit organizations, schools, academic institutions, civic associations, and government agencies located in Sarasota and Manatee counties with projects that will benefit the Sarasota Bay watershed are eligible. The Sarasota Bay watershed encompasses Anna Maria Sound south to the Venice Inlet and is inclusive of all barrier islands in between. A maximum amount of $3,000 may be awarded to each applicant.
Projects will be evaluated on their ecological and community benefits and their budgetary requirements. All applications will be reviewed by the SBEP’s Grants Review Committee, a panel of Citizen Advisory Committee members. SBEP will mail decision letters to all applicants by early June 2017.
