Sarasota Cops Have School Zone Speeders' Numbers
The police department isn't playing around as students kick off the new academic year.

Motorists who like to ride a little heavy on the pedal even in school zones might want to think twice.
The Sarasota Police Department has announced it’s not playing around with school zone safety. In fact, officers were out in force Monday morning to usher in a safe new year.
The morning wasn’t lucky for at least one driver.

“Officer Schafer just gave one driver a mandatory court date for going 45 in a 15 mph School Zone,” the department’s Facebook page said. “Minimum fine is $456 & the maximum fine $1,000 - Slow down!”
