Sarasota Coronavirus Testing Site Abruptly Shut Down: Report

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — Those getting tested for coronavirus at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, located at 1845 34th Street in Sarasota, should expect delays, the Herald-Tribune reported.

The state-run, walk-up COVID-19 testing site is experiencing long lines and backed up traffic, reports said.

Until Sunday, there were two state-run testing sites in the county. But the Department of Health abruptly shut down the testing site on Cattleman Road Sunday afternoon, reports said.

The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota said a second site might open at the Kennel Club on Tuesday, reports said.

The testing site at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 for the holidays. Otherwise, testing takes place at the site seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or until capacity is reached. No appointment is required.
