Sarasota Coronavirus Testing Site Set To Open By Appointment
A coronavirus testing site is set to open Friday in north Sarasota by appointment only.
SARASOTA, FL — A coronavirus testing site is set to open Friday in the parking lot of the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex in north Sarasota. The site is only open to people with symptoms of the virus.
The tests will be offered by appointment only from 8 a.m. to noon. The Robert L. Taylor Community Complex is located at 1845 John Rivers St.
"Testing is for anyone who is currently experiencing symptoms — fever, cough, or
shortness of breath — or who works in a health care setting," according to the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County.

Sarasota County had 253 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 17 deaths as of Thursday morning, including 105 men and 133 women. The eldest patient has been 102, according to health officials.
To make an appointment, call 941-861-2883. Callers will be screened
using CDC testing criteria.

"Appointments are limited, however more testing opportunities may be scheduled in the future," health officials said.
A photo ID must be presented at the time of testing. Call 941-861-2883 for more information.
Testing has also been underway since March 28 at Twin Lakes Park for people who have a prescription to be tested. The park is located at 6700 Clark Road in Sarasota.
That drive-thru testing site is also open only to people who have symptoms of the virus.
Medical providers can fill out a Testing Request Form and fax it to 941-554-5502. for patients to be tested at Twin Lakes Park between 8 a.m. to noon.
The form must include the patient’s current valid phone number so health officials can contact the patient to set up an appointment.
