Sarasota County Election Results 2014

Unofficial results have Paul Caragiulo and Alan Maio in the lead.

With 96 of the 99 precincts in Sarasota County reporting, it appears that the two Republicans in the race for County Commission have won their bids.

According to the Sarasota County Supervisor of Election’s Office’s unofficial results, Republican Paul Caragiulo leads Independent Alexandra Coe by 66.11 percent to 33.40 percent, or 90,543 to 45,750 votes in the District 2 race.

District 4 Republican Alan Maio also leads his race with 77,198 votes, or 53.38 percent of the vote. Democrat Ray Porter has 41.35 percent of the vote with 59,803 votes. Independent John Minder garnered 7,630 votes, or 5.28 percent with 96 precincts counted.

State Representative District 70

With 6 of 6 precincts reporting in

  • Democrat Darryl Rouson – 80.07 percent, 3,037
  • Independent Philip Garrett – 19.46 percent, 738 votes
  • Write-in – 0.47 percent, 18 votes

State Representative District 72

With 29 of 32 precincts reporting in

  • Republican Ray Pilon – 57.39 percent, 32,487 votes
  • Democrat Greg Para – 42.61 percent, 24,121 votes

State Representative District 74

With 48 of 48 precincts reporting in

  • Republican Julio Gonzalez – 95.39 percent, 50,267 votes
  • Write-in – 4.61 percent, 2,428 votes

All results are preliminary until certified.
