Sarasota County Suing Local Film Company
The county says the film production company didn't hold up its bargain to bring jobs to the area.

Sanborn Studios was given $650,000 in government incentives to open its doors in Lakewood Ranch. In exchange for that, the company was supposed to create 117 new jobs that paid an average wage of $72,000.
That didn’t happen.
Sarasota County has now filed a lawsuit against the film production company, according to the Bradenton Herald. Under the 2010 agreement, the film company might have to pay more than $350,000 for failing to hold up its end of the bargain.

Sanborn Studios is run by Ken Sanborn, CEO, and Karinne Behr, president, according to its website. The company has assisted in the filming of several television pilots, including “Miami 24/7,” since it opened.
