Sarasota Film Festival

The 25th annual Sarasota Film Festival, which kicked off Friday, runs through April 2 with movie screenings and special events in Sarasota. Movies are also available for streaming.

Monday Night Jazz

The Jeremy Carter Quartet performs Monday, 7:30 p.m., at the John C. Court Cabaret, 1265 1st Street, Sarasota.

Manatee Chamber Day at LECOM Park

The Pittsburgh Pirates have named Tuesday, noon to 5 p.m., as Manatee Chamber of Commerce Day at LECOM Park in Bradenton. For the final game of spring training, the Pirates will take on the Minnesota Twins.

Jay Leno

Stand-up comedian and former “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno takes the stage Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., at the Van Wezel in Sarasota.

Music in the Park

The Glass Onion Beatles Band will perform Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m., as part of the Music in the Park series at Mosaic Amphitheatre on Bradenton’s Riverwalk.

Putin’s War Against Ukraine and the U.S./NATO System Presentation

Presented by the Sarasota Institute of Lifelong Learning, Dr. Robert V. Barylski, a former dean and professor at the University of South Florida, will explain the situation in Ukraine and where things can go Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church, 104 S. Pineapple Ave., Sarasota.

Warriors of Sarasota: The Interconnections of Diasporic Roots and Identity

Presented by Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Friday, 1 to 2:30 p.m., at the Sarasota Art Museum, this storytelling event explores the interconnections between Black and Latinx identity, sisterhood and identity through a multidisciplinary and artist-collaborative lens and the fusion of documented narratives of powerful women of color.

Noshing in Nature Series: “Orange You Glad to Learn About Vodka?”

Friday evening’s program in the Noshing in Nature sip-n’-learn series at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens’ Historic Spanish Point campus in Osprey presents “Orange You Glad to Learn About Vodka?” Learn about the botanical, cultural and culinary history of this citrus fruit and enjoy samples of orange vodka from Cathead Distillery.

Kids 2 Kamp Golf Tournament

IMG Academy Golf Club in Bradenton hosts the third annual Kids 2 Kamp Golf Tournament on Saturday. Funds from the event will be used to maintain low costs for the families who send their children to the Salvation Army of Manatee County’s day camp and full scholarships for the families with the greatest need.

“Moses” Movie Screening and Pizza
